JCTC Allied Health and Nursing building

The Allied Health and Nursing  building was funded by the 2006 General Assembly and will cost $25.6 million to construct and furnish. Construction is expected to begin in early June and take about 18 months to complete. The 100,000 square-foot building, which will contain classrooms, laboratories, faculty offices and study space, is scheduled to open for the Fall 2010 semester.

Architect: Arrasmith, Judd, Rapp and Chovan Inc.

Contractor:   Whittenberg Construction Company - June 2, 2008

VTI Building Entrances:  Once construction begins entrances on the south side of the VTI building (those facing campus) will be closed.  During construction, the VTI building can be accessed only through the doors facing Chestnut Street. (See map)

Parking: Student parking will not be affected by the building construction.

The faculty/staff lot along Second Street is in the construction zone and will be closed for the duration of the project.  Faculty and staff parking remains available in the Broadway Lot, Gray Street Lot and in the JEC Garage.

Disability parking is available for Faculty and Staff on the north side of the VTI, along Chestnut Street. Additional disability parking is being developed.

The college is examining student and faculty/staff parking needs. A summary of a study looking at short-term solutions and long-term planning is here.

Early Childhood Development Center:  Access to the Early Childhood Development Center is through the West Entrance to the VTI along Chestnut Street. Drop-off and pick-up parking is available at the West Entrance.
