Subject: student life committee

The SW Student Life Committee met on Thursday, 11/11.  Present were Susan Erdmann, Jerry Johnson, Pat Ecker, Linda Klein, Chris Graney, and Bill Hazelrigg.  We discussed the results of the Halloween costume contest:  the winners have been notified, and the bookstore has been made aware to expect them to collect their awards.

We discussed the need to begin thinking about the Spring Fling:  publication of a call for demo tapes/disks from interested bands; a suggestion that we include a free throw shooting contest this time.

Katy had directed us to consider intramural sports teams.  We discussed that basketball, volleyball, and bowling had been tried in the past, and that after about two-three weeks, all interest had disappeared.  In any event, we have no funds to adopt anything else this year – possibly try to address these in next year’s budget request.

Our next meeting will be early in February.
